Now I know I promised I’d write…

But I just had to take a little break after the Challenge.  On top of all that, it took me about most the week last week to get my head under control. You all are so nice to ask about my headaches.  I’ve finally gotten them back under control and I hope they stay that way.  I’ve learned my lesson and I will not convince my doctor that I will be fine on a lower dose.  Really.  What was I thinking?

I’ve been working on designing one of my new projects and I’ve set my test knitters loose on the thing.  They are excited about it. But thank goodness for lots of testers because we’re still working out some of the important details like needle size, gauge and how much yarn.  It’s definitely different than a dishcloth so I’m not sure on some of those details.  Don’t expect to see it for a while yet though.  I’ve given them until after the holidays because it’s a bit bigger than a dishcloth and I know that we are entering into the craziest time of year!

I also need to get busy on designing a free pattern for December.  The 24th is rapidly approaching and the KAL will begin.  It would help if I had an idea!!  Don’t worry, I’ll think of something.

Last night of sanity

Actually I think I lost my sanity about two weeks ago or so when I first thought this thing up.  We’ll find out tomorrow, when I start this challenge.  Although I’m going to breeze through the first five days because that’s how many patterns I have all set.  Plus a sixth cloth is about halfway test knit.  I also have about 7 other patterns typed up that just need to be knit, and another 10 that need to be both typed and knit.  So all in all, I’m not in too bad of shape.  But I still have real life to contend with as well.  And my two year old has been in rare form the past week, so we will just see!

I’ll be working tomorrow to update the main part of the website to add the first pattern.  I haven’t even decided which one I’m going to put up first, so I can’t even give a hint!  What fun!

Don’t forget…cheerleading officially begins tomorrow.  Anyone who comments on any post that I make in the next 7 days will be entered into the first week’s drawing for free patterns, and then it resets for the second week and we start all over.

Knot knitting….

OK.  So that title needs some work.

I’ve not been knitting.  I’ve been thinking about knitting, but it just hasn’t happened in a while.  I’ve been trying to knit a chemo cap for my neighbor for over a month. It shouldn’t take six weeks to finish a cap.  It shouldn’t take 6 days to finish a cap.  Especially now that I’m not working, and considering that I started it in the summer!  But I’ve been a bit preoccupied.

In an effort to forget about all my kid troubles (that I won’t elaborate on here), I’ve been thinking over the non-knitting situation.  And the non-designing situation.  And the non-KAL situation.  I also realized that I did a perfectly nice free pattern for August and never added to the website.  Shame on me.  I’ll have to get right on that.

I have a pattern all planned out that I was going to do for the September free pattern and KAL.  But since September is almost done, I’m just going to test knit it quickly and throw it up on the site.  And since it coincidentally is a schoolhouse, which is the same thing that the Monthly Dishcloth Group did for their September KAL, I’ll bet you’re glad I never got around to mine.  The design is different, but really, who needs two schoolhouses?

While I’m test knitting that pattern, I’ll quickly test knit the patterns I have planned for October and November.  By the way, I’ve had these three patterns done since last year!  I just never got around to typing them up and knitting them.  Last year was one heck of a year at school and by the time it calmed down it was spring, and I wasn’t in the mood for fall patterns by then.

The other idea I have floating around in my head is one completely crazy one and I’m not sure if I should even mention it, so I don’t think I will.  But if by some miracle there is anyone who actually checks on this blog from time to time and asks me about it, then I will mention it and see what kind of reaction I get.  Leave me a comment if you want to hear about my new crazy scheme.  And maybe I’ll post about it.  Or maybe I won’t because I just might come to my senses.

Picture of the KAL

Sorry it has taken me a couple of days to post this, but here is a picture of the KAL from last week.  In case you weren’t able to figure out what it was, it’s a charcoal grill. :)

Charcoal Grill

On the knitting front….there is no knitting! LOL  I’m working on trying to get together a bunch of patterns for my test knitters as well as chart out a gazillion new designs.  I have so many ideas floating around, I’ll never get them all done!  I’ve also had several requests lately and I’m very far behind on those.  So, if you’ve put in a request recently, I’m not ignoring you.  I’m just swamped.
